Cleaning work is repeat work, so the invoice has two jobs: get this visit paid, and make the next booking an easy yes.

| Pricing | Best for | On the invoice |
|---|---|---|
| Flat rate per visit | Regular home and office cleans | "Weekly clean" × number of visits |
| Per hour | First visits, one-off jobs | Cleaner-hours: 2 cleaners × 3 hours = 6 |
| Per square foot or metre | Commercial and move-out cleans | Area × rate |
| Per room | Homes of different sizes | Bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen as separate lines |
For weekly or fortnightly clients, send one invoice at the end of the month and list each visit date. The client sees exactly what they paid for, and you send one invoice instead of four.
If you charge for late cancellations or when you cannot get in, say so on every invoice, not only when it happens. For example: "Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged at 50% of the visit price." Clients accept a fee more easily when they have seen the rule before.

Clients usually prefer a flat price per visit because they know the cost in advance. A common approach is to do the first visit by the hour, then quote a flat rate for regular cleans once you know how long the job takes.
Yes. It answers the client's first question before they ask it, and it makes missed or extra visits easy to see.
It depends on where you work. Some places tax cleaning services and others do not, and in VAT countries it depends on whether you are registered. Check your local rules.
If the client pays for supplies, put them on a separate line, at cost or with a small agreed markup. If supplies are included in your price, say 'all supplies included', which clients like to see.
